About the Job
MSU Event Custodian:
Working in the event buildings before and after events for 20-32 hours a week with varying hours and shifts. Some example shifts are: 5 pm to 11 pm, 10 pm to 2 am, 1 am to 5 am, 4 pm to 10pm, and so on.
This is a limited term position from hire through May 2027.

Minimum Requirements:
- Possession of a valid Michigan vehicle operator's license.
- Frequent lifting of over 75 pounds is required.
- Clean driving record.
Duties:
- Removing Trash.
- Dusting.
- Vacuuming.
- Mopping.
- Disinfecting restrooms.
- These positions will perform cleaning and maintenance activities; understands and gives verbal or written instructions.
- Reads chemical, biological, or radioactive warning signs.
- Removes snow with a shovel or snow blower.
- Retains training information required for custodial methods, equipment, and products.
- Works with student employees and communicates and interacts with the University community.
- Serves as a liaison with the Department of Public Safety.
- Maintains product inventory.
- Makes independent decisions to accomplish acceptable cleaning standards using appropriate methods, products, and equipment.
- This position will engage in high-performing, leading-edge practices, valuing people, partners, and stewardship.
